Joy – the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying.
Sometimes when I read scripture, I like to dissect the verse. I believe it helps us to understand the verse meaning better when we read it at a slower pace so that it can resonate with our soul in a deeper way.
This verse for example:
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
1 Peter 1:8 NIV
So let’s break it down S L O W L Y….
Though you have not seen him, you love him… I just love this because it is so true. I have not seen Jesus, but I sure do love him immensely – Why? Because of what He did for you and me. He took our sins to the cross and demonstrated his love for us in a way no one else could.
and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him… makes me smile every time. 🙂
and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy… there really is no way to describe this. One thing is for certain, when you become a child of God, your very life is changed. Your heart becomes different – it is filled with….glorious joy.
Stay in the word and let God speak to your heart today. Have a blessed day!
